Betty Holaday Obituary
Mrs. Betty Jane Phillips Holaday, age 81, of Rome passed away Sunday September 6, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Holaday was born July 18, 1934 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Everett Phillips, and Beatrice Darby Phillips. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was retired from Pharr Yarns after 20 years of service, and later from the City of Rome as a Crossing Guard after 14 years of service. Mrs. Holaday enjoyments in life was cooking for her family and friends, she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister that loved everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Holaday, and the father of her children, Fred Hubbard, a son Anthony Hubbard, grandson, Jason Kuykendall.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Hubbard, Rome; Robin (Stephen) Kuykendall, Ft. Payne, Al; brothers, Everett "Buddy" (Ann) Phillips, Rome; sisters, Shirley (Don) Adams, Rome; Linda (Glenn)McEver, Hiram, Ga.; Sissie (Allen) McEver, Dallas, Ga.; grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Kuykendall, Jeremy (Melody) Kuykendall, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 10, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ricky Studdard officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. on Wednesday September 9, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Joshua Kuykendall, Jeremy Kuykendall, Allen McEver, , Adam Fletcher, William Fletcher, Anthony Adam, and Timmy McEver.
