Mr. Bobby Gene Potts, age 86, of Rome passed away Tuesday March 24, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Potts was born January 31, 1929 in Chattooga County, a son of the late Grady Lester Potts, and Annie Ruth Howell Potts. Mr. Potts was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was retired from Rome Housing Authority after many years as Director, he was a member of Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 F&AM. Mr. Potts was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Corley Potts, brother, Johnny Potts, and sister, Sue Barton.
Survivors include, son and daughter in law, David and Angie Potts, Baxley, Ga; daughter, Kim Sharpe, Rome; brother, Eddie (Betty Jean) Potts, Statesboro, Ga.; grandchildren, Josuah Sharpe, Courtney (Matt) Barre. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 28, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Unite Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Stinson, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday March 27, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, and are asked to meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Will Davis, Brett Barton, Nick Davis, John Potts, Josh Sharpe, and Bradley Pierson.
