Brenda Overby Harwell, age47, of Rome passed away Sunday, Aughust 24, 2014.
A native of Rome, Mrs. Harwell was born May 22, 1967 daughter of Raymond Newell Overby and the late Nelda Sue Cooper Overby. She attended Pepperell High School and was a graduate of the Georgia Northwestern Technical College School of Nursing, and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse with several different hospices. She enjoyed being around water at the lake or at the beach. She had a big heart and loved animals and rescued many cats and dogs. Mrs. Harwell was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers Kenneth and Marvin Overby.
Survivors include her husband Jack Dempsey Harwell, Jr; son Jack Dempsey Harwell, III; father Raymond Newell Overby, and two brothers Greg and Eddie Overby. Three step daughters, several step grandchildren, three nephews, a niece, great nephew, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Memorial services will be conducted at 5 PM Wednesday, August 27 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue. The family will receive friends following the service. Please visit our website www.goodshepherdfh.net to post tributes and memories.
