Charles "Larry" Mattos, age 70, of Rome, died at Floyd Medical Center on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
Larry was born in Calhoun GA, November 25, 1944. Shortly after, he and his family moved to Taunton MA where he grew up. He proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles G. Mattos, and Odell Wilson Mattos.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Jacks Mattos; his daughters, Michele Mattos and Christine Rogers White and her husband Douglas White; Grandchildren, Li Anna and Lauren Rogers and Douglas Charles White; siblings, Barbara Mattos, Clifford Mattos, Brian Mattos and Linda Winters.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, December 22, 2014 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Dr. Greg Lund officiating. Interment will follow at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 Honor Guard of the American Legion conducting full military grave side rites. Donations would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 11:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Monday, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1941 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are ask to meet at the church on Monday by 12:30 P.M. Douglas White, Clifford Mattos, Brian Mattos, Tracey Rogers, and Andy Matthews.
