Dakota Chance Garrett, age 18, of Rome passed away Friday June 24, 2016.
Dakota was born January 9, 1998, in Floyd County. Dakota was a 2016 graduate of Coosa High School.
He loved soccer, PE. Art, basketball, music and playing his video games. Dakota was on the honor roll although school, he was a caring and loving person, and loved his many friends. He loved Batman and Star Wars. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cherie Wilson, Robert Leroy Brannon, and Nevin Garrett, Sr.
Survivors include his mother and father, Jeanne Brannon Garrett, and Nevin "Randy" Garrett, Jr.; sister, Christy Garrett McClain; grandmother, Dorothy Garrett; his girl friend, Bailey Cannon; nieces, Makayla McClain, Matyah Jackson, Lataija Jackson; and his many friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mikel Garrett and Dr. Dale Lavan, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service, on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include, Jonathan Ledbetter, Austin Backstrom, Jeremy Swanson, Christian Keith, Keirsten Whatley, Brandon Bishop, Logan Seal, Christian Holmes, Devon Desecan, Erik Fitz, Joab Stewart, Caleb Whitmire, Cody Bryan, and Isaiah Sanders.
