Dorthy Brownlow Obituary
Dorothy L. Brownlow, age 84, of Rome passed away Monday evening in a local health care facility.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Brownlow was born July 14, 1931 daughter of the late J.T. and Flora Daniel's Simpson. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for Dr. Connor and Dr. Hines, Floyd Medical Center, and retired from the Redmond Regional Heart Catheterization Lab. Mrs. Brownlow was a strong Christian and active member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mrs. Brownlow loved and constantly cared and prayed for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Henry Brownlow, Jr. in 2008 and brothers J.D. Simpson, Harold Simpson, and Marvin Simpson and a sister Sue Couey.
Survivors includetwo sons and daughters in law Dale and Rudy Brownlow of Centre, and Jerry and Debbie Brownlow of Rome; Six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home with Reverend Mac McCurry, her nephew Reverend Eric Hall, and Rayford Davenport officiating. Her son, Jerry Brownlow will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Scott Brownlow, Shane and Shannon Cordle, Blake Puckett, David Kirkland, and Toby Simpson serving as pallbearers .
