Dwayne Jay Sams, age 59, of Rome passed away Friday February 16, 2018 in a local hospital.
Dwayne was born October 3, 1958 in Reno Nevada, son of the late Irl Lynn Sams, and Betty Lou Prince Sams. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Megan Noel Sams, brother, Wayne Ray Sams.
Survivors include his wife Judy Land Sams, sons, Jordan Sams, Cedar City, Utah; Travis Jay Sams, Salt Lake City, Utah; Taylor Sams, Quantico, VA; daughter, Ashley Nicole Warren, Leigh, Utah; brothers, William Sams, Reno, Nevada; Irl Lynn Sams, II, Reno Nevada; 13, grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Toby (Tex) Gilmore, officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the services hour on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga.
