Eugene Dean Obituary

Mr. Eugene Jackson "Jack Laundromat Man" Dean, age 82, of Rome, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.

Mr. Dean was born November 5, 1932, in Catoosa County, a son of the late, Johnnie Boston Dean, and Ivie Mae Clark Dean. He was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Dean along with his son Billy started Dean's Auto Collision in 1992, he also owned Dean's Laundromat's where he was known as the Laundromat Man, for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from October 6, 1952 until October 5, 1960. Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Smith Dean; brothers, Roy and J.B. Dean; sisters, Bea Allen, and Lucille Manders.

Survivors include his children Karl (Kay) Dean, Rome, Connie (C.T.) Wilson, Rome, Billy (Sally) Dean, Rome, Michael Holcombe, Rome; brother, Lewis (Evelyn) Dean, Ball Ground; sister, Mary Frances (Alton) Staples, Alpharetta; grandchildren, Chase Dean, Wesley Dean, Cody Dean, Kyle Dean, Conner Dean, step grandchildren, Zac Wilson, Emily Wilson, Mitchell Pollack, Rachael Smith, great-grandchildren, Madelyn Wilson, Emmanuel Wilson, Gus Wilson, June Wilson, Eli Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday February 16, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Skates, and Rev. Mikel Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens, with Shanklin-Attaway Post Five of the American Legion conducting full military graveside rites . The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or the family will accept flowers.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Chase Dean, Wesley Dean, Cody Dean, Kyle Dean, Conner Dean, and Zach Owens.
