Ferrell Knowles Obituary
Mrs. Ferrell Ann Crook Knowles, age 80 of Rome passed away Thursday June 23, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Knowles was born November 14, 1935 in Gordon County, a daughter of the late Rembert Crook and Jesse Ruthell Bennett Crook. She married the love of her life, Donald Carl Knowles at the age of 15 and were married 60 years before his passing. Mrs. Knowles attended Carol Lynn Business School and retired from West Point Pepperell after 45 years of service. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club in Lindale and was active with Ladies Shriner's (Donald Knowles her husband was a Shiner for many years) and was active on bowling teams for many years. Ferrell was an avid cat lover-"Chatty was her and Granddaddy's love. She loved to read all types of books, loved flowers and working in her yard. Ferrell and Donald were crowned Mr. & Mrs. Callier of Callier Springs Country Club in 1979. Mrs. Knowles was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Knowles.
Survivors include a son, Don Knowles, Rome; grandchildren, Jamey (Linda) Koch, Rome; Stephanie Abbott, Rome, great grandchildren, Jesse, Jacey, Cameron, Ben Cole and Tori, one great great grandchild, Landon, brother, Steve (Dawn) Crook, Rome; sisters, Shirley Westmoreland, Rome; Glenda Godfrey, Rome; Barbara (Ralph) Ingram, Cave Spring. Also surviving is one of Ferrell's special friends that was dear to her heart since 1986, Barbara Taylor. ; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Saturday June 25, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel with Ralph Ingram, Rev. Kenneth Jones, officiating. Her eulogy will be given by her grandson, Jamey Koch. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday, Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, Michael Abbott, Jesse Abbott, Keith Godfrey, Joey Godfrey, Dakota Godfrey, Gene Bramlette, Chris Crook, and Terry Lovell; Jamey Koch and Linda Koch will serve as honorary pallbearers.
