Guy Neyman Obituary
Guy Calvin Neyman, age 89, passed away June 28, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Rome where he had been a resident since September, 2008. He was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, April 5, 1926, son of the late Albert O. and Louella Bolton Neyman. He was married December 10, 1955 to Doris Rutledge who survives.
In addition to his parents, Guy was proceeded in death by his sisters, Louise Jordan, Edna King, and a lovely niece Peggy King Poore.
He served in the Army during WWII and in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked several years as a truck driver for Sears, and for Carolina Freight, and retired from Carolina in 1982. Guy loved his horses and cats and dogs. He loved laughter and making people laugh. Guy was a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his beloved Doris, he is survived by one sister, Earline Harrison , brother in law, James D. (Becky) Rutledge, Winston, Ga.; nieces Brenda ( Cleve) Carpenter, Gadsden, Al; Charlotte (David) Nolan, Gadsden, Al; Lynn (Roger) Haggard, Cedar Bluff, Al; several great nieces and nephews, and some very good friends also survive.
The family will receive friends from only at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday July 1, 2015, immediately followed by the funeral service in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Shanklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion conducting full military graveside rites.
The family respectfully request no visitation or food at the residence.
