Howell Norman Obituary
Mr. Howell David Norman, age 86, of Rome passed away Sunday March 8, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Norman was born May 15, 1928, in Floyd County, a son of the late Thomas Maston Norman and Rebecca Bright Norman. Mr. Norman was retired from Alcan Industries where he worked for many years as a tool and die maker. He was veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Pope Norman, and two brothers.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda (Michael) Freeman, Yorktown, VA; Cindy (Donnie) Smith, Rome; Cheryl (Dwight) Phillips, Leesburg, AL; Kim (Daniel) Wagoner, Wilkesboro, NC; Ellen (David) Shepherd, McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Gardin, David Freeman, Chris Smith, Ashley Phillips, Duran King, Margaret Shepherd, Katherine Shepherd, Sarah Shepherd, 7 great grandchildren, and a very special friend, Barbara Harper.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday March 13, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with Shanklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion conducting full military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Friday, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165.
