Mrs. Janny Ruth Stanley Baker, age 81, of Rome passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in a local health care faculty.
Mrs. Baker was born October 14, 1934, in Gilmer County, Ga., a daughter of the late J.W. Stanley, and Othella Mann Stanley. She was a member of Rome Church of Christ. Mrs. Baker dedicated her life to being a homemaker and taking care of her family, She was an avid golfer, loved quilting, crafts, and gardening. She was a member of The Floyd County Homemaker Association and a Hall of Fame member of Georgia Mountain Music. Mrs. Baker loved to collect Hummingbirds. She loved baking, watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Stanley; sister, Nellie Wilson; 2 great grandchildren, Darian Baker and Daysia Knox.
Survivors include her husband, Clive Bake; sons, Randy Baker, Rome; Steve ( Tammie) Baker, Rome; Darryl (Kathy) Baker, Summerville; daughters, Yvonne (Terry) Hitt, Rome; brother, Leroy (Ann) Stanley, Rome; sisters, Lorine (Mike) Williams, Ellijay; Glennell (Joe) Fricks, Rome;, grandchildren, Stephanie Baker, Michael ( Mitzi) Hitt, St. Augustine, Fl; Jessica Baker, Rome and Derek ( Sammi) Hitt, Melborne, Australia; great grandchildren, Alexis Baker, Kierstyn Baker, Addyson Haynes, Logan Hitt.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 13, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Steve Rogers, and Mr. Doug Sims, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
