ason Lawrence Brown, age 31 of Rome passed away Friday, July 11, 2014.
A native of Knoxville, Tennessee Jason was born September 5, 1982 in Knoxville, Tennessee son of Annette Gilreath Brown and Gerald L. Brown. He had been a resident of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Kennesaw and Powder Springs before moving to Rome 10 years ago. Jason attended Berry and Georgia Highlands Colleges. He was a Trekkie, was very kind and polite and had a quirky and unique sense of humor. . Jason was preceded in death by three uncles, a cousin Matthew Case and his grandfathers Doc Gilreath and Lawrence Brown.
Survivors include his parents Annette Brown of Powder Springs and Gerald L. Brown of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; grandmothers Rosa Gilreath of Rome and Dortha Brown of Oliver Springs; aunts and uncles Mattie (Doyce) Davis of Rome, Kathy Case and Becky (Kenny) Fortner of Oliver Springs. Cousins . Special close friends Scott Gooseman, Alan Jackson, Tim Medearis, Hannah Ward, Chris Lee, Angela Ward, Ashleigh Way, Alyse Steves, Rebecca White, Dane Pratt, Daniel Plottel, Jordan Frost, Grace Dunkin, Meghan Garret, Rory Barrett, Travis McGruder, Brianna Stubblefield, Johnny Keilor, Timothy Knowlton, John Powers, and Tamara Shook also survive.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1 until 2 PM at Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue. Private interment services will follow at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverends Tommy Littleton and Jerry Dudley officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers : David Choate,Matthew Brown, Jeff Brown, and Doyce Davis.
