Jeremiah Kareem Stamper, 18, passed away January 17, 2017 in a Montgomery , Alabama hospital.
A native of Rome, Jeremiah was born December 15, 1998 to Stacey Garrett and the late Jabez Kareem Stamper. He was a ray of sunshine, always smiling, and spoke profoundly through expressions. . He loved to run. He loved to play with string and ribbon, enjoyed America's Got Talent, and automobile and bicycle racing. Most of all, Jeremiah loved spending time with his family., listening to music, and seeing the sights. Even though Jeremiah was preceded in death by his father, he embodied his dad's love for watching wrestling. Jeremiah was nicknamed "Bullfrog" by his mother. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his special need s teachers and bus drivers. Jeremiah was also preceded in death by an aunt, Reba Robinson.
Survivors include his mother, Stacey Alexander and her husband Howard Alexander; brother and sisters Justin Alexander, Brooklynn Alexander, and Alexis McBurnett; maternal grandparents Joyce and Van Garrett, paternal grandparents Jereboam and Stella Stamper, Sr. two devoted aunts Ixchele and Michelle Stamper; uncles Jereboam (Rita) Stamper Jr., David (Angela) Sagoes, and Kevin Scott Garrett. Great uncle and aunt Manuel Roscoe and Janelle Roach.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 Saturday in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Ben Clements and Pastor Edward Hoggs officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until the service hour, and at other hours will be at the residence of Van and Joyce Garrett. Pallbearers include Mike Robinson, Antoine Ellis, Scott Garrett, Clarence Prior, Howard Alexander, and Gary Dulaney.
