Linda Bevis Obituary

Linda Waldrop Bevis, 65, the wife of the late Lynn "Bean" Bevis, was a native of Alabama and called Rome, Georgia her home for more than thirty years. Lindawent to heaven on August 12, 2015. Linda was born in Alexander City, Alabama on November 19, 1949. Since the birth of her first grandchild nearly 30 years ago, Linda was known to her family and many who loved her as "Nana." She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 32 years, Lynn "Bean" Bevis, her parents Reedand Evelyn Waldrop of Pell City, AL and her brother Reed Waldrop Jr. of Pell City, AL.

Linda graduated from Ashville High School in Ashville, Alabama in 1967. Linda spent much of her young adult years caring for her four younger siblings. Always known to everyone for her infinitely loving and mothering soul, Linda had a radiant smile that clearly reflected her care and compassion to anyone who knew her.

Linda was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Rome, GA. She spent many years serving the Rome banking community at Home Federal Savings & Loan as a Loan Officer. Linda was a very active member of community giving of her time through volunteering in a number of different organizations.

Linda had a passion for crocheting and often made beautiful things for her friends and family. Linda was equally as passionate for gardening and cherished her annual garden. She, Bean and her sister Janet, who was also her best friend, spent many months canning their own fabulous creations of sauces and pickles, all with customized labels. "Nana and Mimi's Pepper Jelly" was arguably the best around.

Linda and Bean were married in 1983. They loved nothing more than each other, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Linda is survived by her children Krista and Scott Sitterle of Rockwall, TX; Greg and Cindy Aderhold of Great Falls, MT;Scott and Penny Bevis of Cedartown, GA; Sandi Bevis of Cartersville GA; Her grandchildren Wyatt and Erica Bevis of Cleveland TN; Steven Ford of Rome, GA; Kaycie Bevis of Clermont, FL; Zack Ford of Rome, GA; Jackson Bevis of Cedartown, GA; Colby Aderhold of Great Falls, MT; Reed Sitterle of Rockwall, TX; Justin Aderhold of Great Falls, MT; Drew Sitterle of Rockwall, TX; Great grandsons Carter and Hudson Bevis, of Cleveland, TN; Sisters and brothersJanet and Charlie Youngblood of Rome, GA; Joe and Donna Waldrop;Jon and Sue Waldrop; and Jessica Waldrop Calhoun, all of Alabama;Larry Bevis, of Richmond Hill, GA; Many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Linda's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday August 15, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service.

Memorials may be madeto the Lupus Foundation of America, American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
