Mrs. Linda Kay Swann Sloan, age 66 of Rome passed away Saturday August 20, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Sloan was born June 3, 1950, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Herschel Swann and Annie Pearl McCartey, She was a faithful member of McFall Baptist Church for over 35 years. Prior to her disability she worked for Kinder Care, Arby's Chick Fila and retired from North Rome Christian Learning Center, in 2007.
Survivors include her husband the love of her life to whom she was married July 2, 1966, Harvey Sloan, children, Kimberly (Steve) Jarrett, Adairsville; Kathy (Brett) Benson, Kansas City, MO; Kelly Sloan (Mark Moore), Rome; Kevin (Misty) Sloan, Silver Creek; her twin sister, Brenda (Kie) Duvall, sisters, Laverne Hollis, Jeri Martin, grandchildren, Lee Webb, Teryn Jarrett, Sydney Jarrett, Payton Benson, MaKenna Benson, Hunter Moore, Madison Sloan, Toriebeth Watkins, Zak McClellon, Zane McClellon, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday August 24, 2016 at McFall Baptist Church, with Rev. Kent Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Park, in Calhoun. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday August 23, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Jerry Kerr, Scotty Kerr, Jeff Garrison, Ricky Conaway, James McBurnett, Chuck Hollis, and Tommy Sloan.
Honorary pallbearers include, Her Grandsons, James Walker,, Henry Conaway, and Floyd EMS.
Mrs. Sloan will lie instate at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
