Lola Oaks Hollifield ,age 95 of Louisville, KY and formerly of Rome passed away Tuesday, November22, 2016 in Louisville.
A native of Alabama, Mrs. Hollifield was born September 19, 1921, daughter of the late John A. Oaks and Cordelia Brannon Oaks. She was a resident of Rome prior to moving to Cincinnati, OH in 1951. In 2006, she moved to Louisville to be near her family. Her primary focus was the health and well being of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mrs. Hollifield was preceded in death by her parents, a son Bill Hollifield, three brothers Howard, Chester, and John W. Oaks, and two sisters Virginia O. Colston and Wilmer O. Owens. Survivors include her son Robert L Hollifield of Louisville; three grandchildren William M. Hollifield, Martha H. Threadgill, and Joshua C. Hollifield; two sisters Jackie Cline and Rachel Treadway, and a sister in law Margie Oaks also survive.
Funeral and interment services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Thursday, December 1 in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with Reverend Herman Stamey officiating.
