Loy Blackwell Obituary
Mr. Loy Hershel Blackwell, age 82, of Rome, passed away Monday March 6, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Blackwell was born October 15, 1934, in Cherokee County, Alabama son of the late Loy Chester Blackwell, and Lena Estelle Butler Blackwell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Summerville, Cherokee Masonic Lodge #66 F&AM, Civil Air Patrol, he was retired from United States Air Force, and Inland Containers.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Seritt Blackwell, sister, Ardeth Hickey, Acworth; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday March 10, 2017, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Al Baker, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday March 9, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165.
Cherokee Masonic Lodge #66 F&AM will conduct Masonic Rites, following the service
