Mahlon Armand Busby, age 85, of Rome passed away February 3, 2015 in a local healthcare facility,a native of Rome, Mr. Busby was born January 5, 1930 son of the late Mildred Lumpkin Busby and Howell Anderson Busby. He was a graduate of McHenry High School. He drove a long haul route for 33 years and worked at GE before retiring as foreman of the Shipping and Receiving Department at Coosa Baking Company. Mr. Busby was a member of the Coosa Masonic Lodge #622 F &AM, member of the West Rome Baptist Church where he was a member of the C.L. Tate Sunday School Class Mr. Busby was preceded in death by a brother William R. Busby.
Survivors include his wife Vera Ann Fricks, to whom he was married January 8, 1949; two sons and daughters in law Michael Armand Busby and Elizabeth Carpenter Busby and Lynn Asbury Busby and Cathy Barnes Busby; two grandchildren Joshua Lynn Busby and Michael Aaron Busby and his wife Sarah; sister Carolyn Busby Bridges and Bernard Bridges.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, February 5, 2015 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Homewith the Reverends Ken Oates and Dr.Greg Lund officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until the service hour. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Sam Patel, Tommy Jones, Steve Anglea, Ted Johnston and Chuck Anglea. Honorary pallbearers are Josh Busby, Aaron Busby and Bernard Bridges. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make memorial contributions to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Handbell Choir, 1941 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA 30165.
