Mildred Fountain Obituary
Mildred Riggins Fountain, 91, odf Rome passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 in a local health care facility.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Fountain was born December 16, 1923 daughter of the late Willie and Elmer Owens Riggins. She had been a resident of Rome all her life and prior to retirement, was employed with Trend Mills. She had also worked for several other local companies including Anchor Duck, Rome Manufacturing, and Champion Garment. Mrs. Fountain enjoyed playing bingo and shopping. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister Earl Riggins and Virginia Tidwell; husband Fred Fountain, Sr and two sons Fred Fountain, Jr. and Danny Riggins Fountain.
Survivors include a daughter Diane Sitten; son and daughter in law Rocky and Cheryl Fountain; Six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, along with a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 2 P.M. in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Reverend Phil Blanton officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 P.M. at Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue Rome, GA.
