Mrs. Opal Jeanette "Nannie Opal" Palmer Money age 90 of Rome passed away Wednesday July 16 2014 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mrs. Money was born June 25, 1924, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late John L. McKinley Salmon and Ruth Bell Allen Salmon. She loved playing the piano and was a member of West Rome Baptist Church. Mrs. Money was loved by many and exhibited grace and kindness to everyone she met. Mrs. Money loved spending time with family but most of all she enjoyed playing with and adoring her great great-granddaughter, Carlyn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Palmer the father of her children, and Charles Money, siblings, Lidelle Salmon, Raymond Salmon and Joyce Salmon Mayfield Cook and her grandson, Roger Wayne "Red" Womack. Mrs. Money was employed for over 24 years with ResCare Home Care, in Rome, Ga.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Jeane Wainwright, Reynolds, Ga; Janice Carol Womack, Rome; sisters, Beth Faeber, Billie Edwards, her husband, Ward, Sandra Worsham, brother, James Salmon, and wife, Betty, grandchildren, Walter Wainwright, Jeffery (Dana) Wainwright, Patricia (Colin) Breed, great grandchildren, Devin (Jennifer) Womack, Sheena (Chris) Wood, Tyler Wainwright, Copely Wainwright, Payton Wainwright, Landen Wainwright, and Logan Wainwright, and great great-granddaughter, Carlyn Elizbeth Womack, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday July 18, 2014 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ken Oakes, officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. until the hour of the service on Friday, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice or the family will accept flowers.
Pallbearers include the following, and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 P.M. on Friday, Devin Womack, Chris Wood, Nick Smith, Hayden Jennings, Hallie Ward Edwards, and Abbie O. Lyons.
