Ovaline Maxwell Vasser, 72, of Rome passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at her residence.
A native of Chattooga County, Mrs. Vasser was born May 14, 1942 daughter of the late Wallace Henry Maxwell and Margie Lee Crook Maxwell. She had been a resident of Rome most of her life and prior to retirement was employed in the Berry College Food Service Department. Mrs. Vasser loved life and was always smiling. She loved dancing, the beaches and mountains, and made friends wherever she went. Mrs. Vasser was preceded in death by her brother Hollis Wayne Maxwell and husband Donald Howard Vasser.
Survivors include her children David (Tina) Vasser, Debra (Mickey) Ownbey, Teresa(Gene) Ely, and Janice (Tommy) Collins. Thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and very special friends H.B. Winters, Eva Vasser, and Faye Carter also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Mr. J. Parnick Jennings Sr. and Reverend Warren Causey officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery off the Old Dalton Road. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and should meet at 1:45 PM.
