Pauline Latta Obituary

Mrs. Pauline Latta, 83, one of God's Angels here on earth, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord Wednesday morning April 16, 2014 at her residence in Rome, Georgia.

Pauline was born on July 24, 1930 in Cherokee County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Thomas "Tom" Kisor and Mamie Ledbetter Kisor. Mrs. Latta was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Wesley Latta Jr. to whom she was wed on April 17, 1954, and they were reunited to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Latta was also preceded in death by her beloved son Mr. Neal Latta on August 19, 2000.

Mrs. Latta was a loving wife who spent her life as a partner, supporter and helpmate to her husband's many businesses throughout the years. She was the matriarch of the family, a loving and devoted Mother to her children, and received much joy from her grandchildren. She will forever live with love in the hearts of those who survive: her daughter Karen Krueger Cook and husband Jake Cook; her son William "Buddy" Latta III and her daughter Melissa Akins and husband Roger Akins. Granny Pauline is survived by her four grandchildren whom she adored Brittney Akins, Chelsea Latta, Weley Latta IV and Jennifer Akins. Mrs. Latta is also survived by her sister Mrs. Olga Logan, her brother in law and sister in law Clyde and Maxine Latta and sister in law Bess Hawkins. She was preceded in death by one sister and brother in law Dorothy and J.T. Knighten and one brother and sister in law C.P. "Bunk" and Hazel Kisor. Mrs. Latta is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins and her lifelong friend Mrs. Jean Murphy. Mrs. Latta was a faithful member of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church since 1965. She sang in the adult choir for decades until illness succumbed her participation. Her family extends to the members of the Shorter Avenue Baptist Church, past and present whom she loved deeply and always referred to as her "church family". All those who knew Mrs. Latta knew she gained such strength from her faith, her family and her church.
