Mr. Rachie Holland age 84, of Rome passed away Saturday September, 13, 2014 in a Rome Health Care Facility.
Mr. Holland was born July 22, 1930 in Bartow County, a son of the late Dewitt Holland, and Bannie Costlow Holland. He was of the Baptist Faith, and was employed by Western Union for over 26 years and retiring from Bruno's Cooperation after 20 years of service. Mr. Holland was a veteran of the United States Navy serving the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McGinnis Holland.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Darlene and Jerry Kichler, Rome; granddaughter, DaShell Brock, Rome; great grandchildren, Will and Cassie Brock. Brother, Wilburn Holland, Aragon; sisters, Shirley (Ollie) Gaston, Rockmart; Jane (Johnny) Childers, Rockmart; Faye (Lendon) Woodall, Rain Bow City, Al; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday September 16, 2014 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, with Alan Holland officiating. Shanlkin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion will conduct full military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Tuesday, Will Brock, Eugene McGinnis, Jody McGinnis, Dan Hand, David "Shorty" Mitchell, and Lendon Woodall.
