Ralph Cook Obituary
Ralph Ellis Cook, age 76, of Rome passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Cook was born December 2, 1937 son of the late Lillie Mae Rolan Cook and Robert Ed Cook, and his step father the late George C. Jesonis. Mr. Cook was retired from Berry College where he worked as a heating and air conditioning contractor. He was a member of Floyd Springs Lodge #167 F &AM and enjoyed donating time to the Masonic Home and trout fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was preceded in death by three brothers James, Bobby, and William H. (Bill) Cook.
Survivors include his children Ralph Edward Cook of Rome, Rickey Eugene Cook of Ponte Vedre Beach, Florida and Lena Maxine Cook Sellars of Rockingham, North Carolina. The mother of his children Martha Ross, a brother Richard Eugene Cook, and eight grandchildren: Lindsey Michelle Bason, Patty Cook, Rebecca Cook, Ralph Cook, Jr., Robert Emmett Cook, Jerry English, Jr. James Sellars, Jr. and Aaron English. Six great grandchildren Noah Cook, Charliegh Cook, Lorcan Bason, James Sellars III, Ja'rin English, and Breyanna English also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Jackie Culberson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the United States Navy providing military honors and Floyd Springs Lodge #167 F& AM providing Masonic rites. There will be a called communication of the Floyd Springs Lodge Saturday at 1:45 PM for the purpose of attending the funeral.
