Randall Anthony "Randy" Duncan, age 53 of Athens passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 in a Athens Medical Center.
Randy was born October 4, 1961 in Floyd County. He was employed with Carrier Transcole for 26, years. Randy was of the Baptist Faith, and a veteran of the United States Navy. Randy had a great love for music and sports, and he enjoyed outings with his sons. He was a graduate of Model High School. Randy was preceded in death by his father Thomas Farrill Duncan, granddaughter, Alexia Nevaeh Duncan, grandparent Horace and Mamie Shackelford, grandfather Thomas Farrill.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy (Rachael) Duncan, Knoxville, TN; Tyler ( Joni) Duncan, Athens; Ryan Duncan, Athens; mother, Faye Shackelford Griffin, Center, Al; grandchildren, Madden, Austyn, Kaitlyn, Jaxon, Marlee and Alexia. Sister Stacey (Andy) Akin, Rome; brother Steve (Terrie) Duncan, Rome; grandmother, Virginia Duncan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May6, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Wednesday, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home, by 1:30 p.m. Steve Duncan, Kevin Duncan, Bolton Burnes, Fischer Lord, Chase Amaya, John Krnc, and Tim Helbing.
