Mr. Richard Lee Cornett, age 75, of Rome passed away Saturday May 16, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Cornett was born June 26, 1939, in Floyd County a son of the late Harley James Cornett, and Ruby Pace Cornett. He was employed by Klompman Mills for 15 years, a truck driver for Reeves Trucking for 2 years, and retired from Diamond Carpets of Rome. Mr. Cornett was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Avanelle "Nell" Lanham Cornett, brothers, Clyde, Lanny, and James Cornett.
Survivors include a son, Kevin (April) Cornett, White, Ga; daughters, Regina Stiles, Rome; Renee Forsyth, Shannon; brothers, Danny (Betty) Cornett, Shannon; Coleman (Sandy) Cornett, Armuchee; sisters, Lucille Brown, Rosedale; grandchildren, Terry Stiles, Lisa Stiles, Chris Cornett, Tyler Cornett, Lynn Mayo, Brian Ashworth, and Justin Cornett, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday May 19, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dwaine Shadix, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday May 18, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home, by 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Brian Ashworth, Chris Perry, JR Lanham, Terry Stiles, and Chris Cornett.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Tyler Cornett, and Brayden Mayo.
