Ruth Dunwoody Obituary
Mrs. Ruth Virginia Potts Dunwoody, age 87 of Rome passed away Thursday June 18, 2015 at her residence.
Mrs. Dunwoody was born July 16, 1927 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Judson Potts, and Nina Tallent Potts. She was a very active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, she was a well known seamstress. Mrs. Dunwoody was preceded in death by her siblings, Elvia Jones, John Williams Potts, Amy Beene, Walter Potts, Ira Mae Vaughn, Wilburt Cooly Potts, Gilbert Lee Potts, Farris Potts, Ned Potts, Lucile Forster, Nina Louse Trammell.
Survivors, include, her husband, Vernon Dunwoody, son, Vernon (Bubba) Dunwoody, Stockbridge; daughter, Donna Young, Rome; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.m. Sunday June 21, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dale Levan, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service on Sunday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
