Sara Lorene Gandy
Sara Lorene Gandy, age 94, of Shannon went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, June28, 2016.
A native of Jackson County, GA Mrs. Gandy was born July 17, 1921 daughter of the late W.T. Truelove and Alice Smith Truelove. She had been a resident of Shannon and was formerly employed by Burlington Mills. She retired from the JC Penney Company Distribution Center as an inspector. Mrs Gandy was a member of the First Assembly of God, and loved ceramics and dollmaking. She moved back to the Shannon community 7 years ago and was preceded in death by her husbands Gene W. Presley in 1982, Fred Gandy in 2004, and a grandson Andrew Emmanuel Conaway.
Survivors include her daughter Peggy Joan Conaway of Rome; son Douglas McFalls of Dalton; grandchildren Bryan McFalls, Laura McFalls Talley, and James Derrell Conaway. Great grandchildren McClain Talley, Mary Allen Talley, Laura Elizabeth Conaway, and Tiffany Colleen Conaway.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, July 1st in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with the Reverends Clarence Cravey and Kenneth Vanderford officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 until 2 PM at the funeral home.
