Shirley Joann Satcher, age 73, of Pleasant Valley Rd. Rome, passed away Sunday night, April 13th at Fifth Avenue Nursing Center.
A native of Floyd County, Ms. Satcher was born July 23, 1940 daughter of Samuel Arthur Satcher, Sr. & Essie Wills Satcher.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alton Satcher and Samuel Arthur Satcher, Jr, two sisters Bernice Broome and Ruth Corntassel.
Survivors include a brother Donald Satcher, Rome and sister Glenda "Polly" Chastain of Orlando, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 17th at Wax Cemetery with Reverend Jamie Satcher officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, GA 30165. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Wax Cemetery Fund, Silver Creek, GA. The family would like to thank Parnick Jennings, Sr. ‘s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, for assisting with this service.
