Venora Irene Williamon, 95, of Rome died Friday afternoon in a local health care facility.
A native of Haralson County, GA Mrs. Williamon was born September 24, 1922, daughter of the late Julius Cauthen and Dicie Chandler Cauthen. She had ben a resident of Rome most of her life and was employed by Georgia School for the Deaf as a houseparent. She also worked at Celanese Fibers. Mrs. Williamon was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and was a woman who lived and shared her faith. A feisty woman who was a hard worker, she loved people and animals. Mrs. Williamon was preceded in death by her husband Merial Dean Williamon and daughter LaDean Amos Hutton.
Survivors include her daughter Carol Maxey; brother S.H. Cauthen and sisters Marie Eichman and Sandra Cauthen. Two grandchildren Shane ( Cathy) Amos and Scott Amos also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 PM Monday in the Chapel of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Randy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until the service hour Monday. Please visit our website www.goodshepherdfh.net to post tributes.
