William Hooper Obituary
William Manuel Hooper, age 70, passed away peacefully at his home in Rome, GA on Thursday, August 6, 2015. William was born in Cullman, Alabama on May 11, 1945. He had been a resident of Rome, GA most of his life. He graduated from Coosa High School in 1965 and then entered the United States Army as a Military Policemanfrom 1965-1967 and served in the Vietnam War. William was the owner of Dixie Advertising and Auction Company for over 45 years. William served as the President and active member of the Rome Bottle Club. He was a member of the West End Baptist Church. William Hooper was preceded in death by his mother, Stella Harris;brother, Alvin Jarrett;sisters, Dora Moses and Alice Hendrix; and grandson, Skylar Ashley.
Survivors includehis wife, Charlotte Walker Hooper;his brother Bobby Joe Harris and wife, Joyce of Rome, GA; his sister Hazel Jeanette Conley and husband, Roger of Jacksonville, FL; his sonChris Hooper and wife, Inda of Rome, GA;his son Will Hooper and wife, Megan of Gainesville, FL;his son Robbie Towe of Rome, GA; and sevengrandchildren Keith, Owen, CJ, Kayla, Christian, Jonathan,and Madison; one great grandchild, Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery at 4:00 pm with Pastor MikePhillips officiating.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Keith Bray, CJ Hooper, Lee Boatfield, Steven Cochran, Alan Binkley, and John Dunn.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cancer Navigators of Rome in Honor of William Hooper.
