Mrs. Willie Avanelle "Nell" Cornett, age 71, of Rome passed away Sunday February 8, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mrs. Cornett was born November 5, 1943 in Bartow County a daughter of the late John Walter Lanham and Estie Ollie Thelma Everette Lanham. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Cornett was retired from Galrey-Lord after over 20 years of service. She was preceded in death by step brothers, Arthur Lanham, and a step sister, Smiley Hight.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Cornett, son, Kevin (April) Cornett, White, Ga; daughters, Regina Stiles, Rome; Renee Forsyth, Shannon; brother, Walter (Janice) Lanham, Cedar Bluff; sisters, Margaret (Russell) Cantrell, Armuchee; Lois Crump, Rome; grandchildren, Terry Stiles, Lisa Stiles, Chris Cornett, Tyler Cornett, Lynn Mayo, Brian Ashworth, Justin Cornett, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Friday February 13, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel With Rev Dwaine Shadix, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday February 11, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. Brian Ashworth, Eric Waddell, Scott Forsyth, JR Lanham, Terry Stiles, and Chris Cornett.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Cornett, Brayden Mayo.
