Barbara Ann Kobek

Barbara Ann Kobek, age 67, of Rome passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 5, 2016 at her residence.
A native of Savannah, Mrs. Kobek was born June 4, 1949 daughter of Loren E and Evelyn Kelly Morse. She was a sensitive, kind, and caring person who loved children and teaching, Barbara was an amazing wife and mother and her Christian spirit was evident to all who knew her. Barbara was a person who was always giving of herself to help others. She was a loving, kind, and encouraging person who loved her family and never met a stranger. In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, traveling, writing, gardening, and chatting on the porch swing with a glass of sweet tea. Barbara was a Sunday School teacher and active member of West Rome Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Kobek; Barbara's mother Evelyn Morse of Orlando, one daughter Sara (Mike) Simpson of Richmond Kentucky, three sons Yume (Kim) Lee of Macon, Ben (Carolyn) Kobek of Lynchburg Virginia, Adam (Amanda) Kobek of Savannah Georgia, and three brothers Robert (Debbie) Morse, Jack (Ninnette) Morse, and Paul (Kay) Morse also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM Friday at West Rome Baptist Church with Jarrod Roberts and Mike Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at West Rome Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Berry Hospice, 4300 Martha Berry Boulevard, Rome GA 30165.
