Barbara Pullen Obituary

Barbara (Bobbie) Sikes Wooten Pullen, age 79 of Rome, Georgia, passed away January 26, 2021 peacefully in her sleep after an extended battle with Alzheimer's.

Mrs. Pullen was born Barbara Ann Sikes on August 11, 1941 in Atlanta, GA and moved to Rome, GA in 1963 with her husband Billy Wooten and their young son. After Billy passed away in December 1983, Bobbie met and fell in love with Frank S. Pullen and they were married on May 28, 1988.

Mrs. Pullen was a long time member of West Rome Baptist Church. However, she is probably best remembered for being a ‘second mom' to many of her children's friends in the Beech Creek neighborhood and the Coosa school community. She served as cheerleading coach for the Coosa peewees and mites at the Rome Boys and Girls Club for many years. It was common to see her supporting the Coosa school events cheering on whoever was involved (even if it wasn't her children), and this even continued after both her children had graduated and gone off to college. She loved God, her family and friends, to travel (usually with her family and friends), to sew, to watch sports, to read books and just to spend time with those she loved.

Mrs. Pullen was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Wooten; mother Mary Jo Phillips; father: Paul Marable Sikes; sisters Betty Jo Gaston and Connie Sikes Hooks; brother-in-law Jack Pullen; and son-in-law Mark E. Bieberich.

Survivors include her husband, Frank S. Pullen; son David Lee Wooten; daughter Holly Wooten Bieberich; daughter-in-law Denise Wooten; grandsons Kyle Wooten, Zachary Ponder and Ryan Wooten; granddaughter Shannon Lee Bieberich; great granddaughter Elise Wooten; sister Vickey Holton; sisters-in-law Mary Jane Pullen Yates, Emma Pullen and Jean Hardin; brothers-in-law John Pullen and Jerry Thorne as well as many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, 2549 Shorter Avenue NW, Rome, with Jarrod Roberts, pastor of West Rome Baptist Church officiating.
