Chip LaDale "Cotton" Ely

Chip LaDale “Cotton” Ely, age 55, of Cedartown passed away Saturday April 9, 2022. Chip was born on January 23, 1967 in Rome GA., to Brenda Joyce Knowles Lewis. Chip was a very hard-working man and was always willing to help anyone. He was a very dedicated son, father, and grandfather. As a child he loved anything to do with sports. He was always involved with his children and a very loving father to his two sons, Cameron and Hayden Ely. He was a man of the Baptist faith. If you knew Chip, you knew he would always be seen in a Toyota pick-up truck. Chip will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James C. “Shag” Knowles, Bertie Knowles; aunt: Debra Knowles Barnes. Survivors include his sons: Hayden (fiancé Shannon) Ely, and Cameron (RaeAnn) Ely; daughter: Brooke Leatherwood; grandchildren: Baby Ely, Carter Griffin, and Noah Griffin; mother: Brenda Lewis; siblings: Mark Ely, Jamie Ely, Cindy Siniard, and Kelli Singleton; aunt Terri Fincher, uncles Jimmy Knowles and John Knowles . Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday April 13, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Thomas Cape officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service hour on Wednesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165. Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Hayden Ely, Cameron Ely, Tristan Siniard, Jeremiah Jones, Blake Heptinstall, and Brad Barnes. Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
