David Michael "Mike" Morrison

David Michael (Mike) Morrison, age 65, of Coosa passed away Thursday April 14, 2022. Mike was born April 7, 1957 to the late John Albert Morrison and Margaret Katherine Brock Morrison. He was a graduate of Coosa High School where he was on the Coosa Eagles football team. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was employed by the City of Rome before being retired on disability. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Albert Morrison, his grandparents, Arthur and Odessa (Granny) Morrison, Charlie T. Brock Sr. and Bell Brock, also his father and mother-in-law Stan and Janice Overton. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Hammonds Morrison to whom he married to January 10, 2003, daughter and son-in-law April and Dewayne Wyatt of Rome, his son David Michael (Mikie) Morrison, Jr of Coosa, GA. His sister and brother-in-law, Sandie and Windell McLendon of Coosa GA. A very special sister-in-law, Janet Gore of Roanoke AL. His nieces Abbi Snipes of Rome, nephew, Curtis (Jessie) McLendon of Rome. Three great nieces, Jamison Dye, Makensi Nicholson and Hannah McLendon all of Rome, GA. Great nephew, Kobe McLendon of Rome. Three great great nephews, Jayden, Jasper, and Juilan Gregory of Bartow County, GA. Numerous other family members. Lifelong friends Corky Summerville of Summerville, GA and Junior Callan of Coosa GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday April 19, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Glosson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service hour on Tuesday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165. Pallbearers include the following gentlemen: Bill Callan, Curtis McLendon, Kobe McLendon, Hunter Mobbs, Craig Morrison, and Corky Summerville. Honorary pallbearers include Junior Callan, Vernon Early, Windell McLendon, and Dewayne Wyatt. At other hours, the family will be at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Sandie and Windell McLendon. Good Shepherd Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
