Ed Houts was Born in Chattanooga TN on July 26, 1936passed away in Rome, GA Monday January 12, 2015. Mr. Houts grew up in Corryton, TN near Knoxville but spent most of his summers in Summerville, GA.
Mr. Houts was first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ and was an adamant proponent of expository preaching and the inherency of the Word of God. He was a loving husband to Sheba Houts for over 28 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Burton Houts. He is survived by his mother Edith Etelka Boling Houts, his wife Sheba Houts, daughter Holly Houts Brown, grandsons Mitchell, Martin, Matthew and Mason Brown, son and daughter in law Taylor and Missy Houts, grandchildren Cameron, Emily and Justin Houts, step-daughter Sandra Walden Price and step-son Ballard Walden.
Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday January 16, 2015 at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church, with Rev. Mac McCurry, officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Friday, at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church, 735 Old Summerville Road, Rome, Ga. 3016. For those in attendance there will be a reception following the service.
