Fay Muse Obituary
Mrs James C. (Fay) Muse died peacefully in the care of her daughter Loretta Muse Darsey on Friday, November 3, 2017 in Winchester, KY at the age of 89.
Fay Muse is survived by her children: Loretta Muse Darsey and son in law Charles Darsey of Winchester, KY, Tony Muse and daughter in law Brenda of Duluth, GA, & Selena Muse Hamm and son in law James Hamm of Charleston, SC. Her granddaughters: Melissa Darsey of Lexington, KY, Meredith Darsey of Nashville, TN, & Michelle Darsey of Winchester, KY. Her grandsons Jonathan Muse and his wife Cari, Haaland Muse, and great grandsons Jack and Bill Muse. Her siblings: Tyrone Woods of Centre, Alabama & Florine Muse of Lenoir, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her husband James C. Mize, to whom she was married in 1946; parents, and a sister Marie King
Mrs. Muse was born on January 27, 1928 in Carrollton, Georgia to Calvin T. Woods & Bertha Woods Clayton.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. Fay enjoyed her garden, and could be found during daylight hours weeding, tilling, and making things beautiful. She was an excellent cook & showed her love with the meals she prepared. Her laughter was infectious. She loved her family, scary movies, and traveling. She spent many years with her husband and family camping in area campgrounds surrounding Rome, Georgia. The place she called home for most of her adult life.
A funeral is scheduled for 11 AM Monday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue. The family will greet friends from 10 until 11 AM.. Reverend Frank Wood will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fay's life. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Mount Alto Baptist Church.
