Frances Farrer Obituary
Frances Louise Gray Farrer, age 89, of Rome passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Farrer was born April 29, 1927, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Dillie Moore Gray.
She was a member of Wesley Southern Methodist Church and recently a contributing member of Shannon United Methodist Church. She was happiest at home with her family. She lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed going for walks, picking blackberries, taking Sunday drives and going to the park with her late husband. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a loving and devoted sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gordon Farrer, her son Robert Scott Farrer, and brothers and sisters, Raymond Gray, Thelma Sullins, Curtis Gray, Henry Gray, Bob Gray, Betty Sanders, Buster Gray, Wayne Gray, Frank Gray, and their respective spouses.
Survivors include her sister, Jo Smith (Charles), her son David Farrer, her grandchildren, Crystal Edenfield (JT), her mother Cyndie Crider; Kacie Crowder (Matthew) and Shelby Farrer, their mother, Darlene Perry; and Wesley Farrer, his mother Cherie Hensley; a great-granddaughter, Kennedy Edenfield; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at 12:30 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 pm at Eastview Cemetery, with Dr. Ken Freshour, Sr. officiating.
Donations may be made to Heyman Hospice, or the family will accept flowers.
Pallbearers include Bill Adkins, Matthew Crowder, James (JT) Edenfield, Tommie Gray, Michael Jackson, and Tommy Stephens.
