Mrs. Frances Mae Barker Worthington, age 85 of Rome passed away Monday April 25, 2016 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Worthington was born November 13, 1930 in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Alanzo Barker, and Addie Estelle Fowler Baker. She was a member of Hill Crest Baptist Church, Chapter 501 of Eastern Star, a graduate of Johnson High School. Mrs. Worthington was retired from Floyd County School System as a School Bus Driver. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 41 years William Curtis Worthington, in 1990, brothers, Lonnie, Eugene, and William "Stump" Barker, sisters, Helen and Juanita Barker.
Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Evelyn and William Montgomery, Cave Spring; nieces, Jan Hall, Diane Minter, Marshell Rampley, nephews, Jason Barker, David Montgomery, Mike Barker, very special friend and her family, Mary Ann Wade, special friends, Howard and Cathy Carver.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday April 29, 2016 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Steve Skates, officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
