Franz Wolff Obituary

Franz Alfred Wolff, age 85, of Rome passed away Thursday, June25, 2015.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mr. Wolff was born February 28, 1930, son of the late Ludwig Carl Wolff and Katharina Schon Wolff. Mr. Wolff was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as an aviation electrician for 23 years. Upon retirement, he moved to Rome and served as an electrician for Floyd County Schools and later worked with Rome City Schools as a lunchroom worker. Mr. Wolff enjoyed preparing meals at West Rome Baptist Church, where he was a member. In his spare time he enjoyed auto mechanics, camping, rock and gem collecting, and taking care of children. Mr. Wolff was preceded in death by his wife Callie Mae Wolff December 12, 2012, and a brother and sister Carl Wolff and Catherine Miller.

Survivors include his children Franz Alfred Wolf, JR (Pam) of Rome; Walter Carl Wolff (Iris) of Brunswick; Linda Dawson (Phillip) of Ft. Worth, TX; Deborah Price (Ricky) of Lubbock, TX; Cheryl Jenkins (Mike) of Rome; Rhonda Quinn and the mother of his children Mary Kohler Kinchen; Step children Johnny Warren (Sherrie) of Huntsville, AL; Jerry Warren of Forest Park;Donna Warren (David) of Rome James Warren (Heather) of Rome, and Jeff Warren (Terrie) of Rome. Thirty one grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Scott Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Shanklin- Attaway Post 5 American Legion Honor Guard extending military honors. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and include Caleb Warren, Micah Warren, Jacob Warren, Joshua Warren, Michael Tae kil Jenkins, Eric Warren, Kevin Wolff, and Scott Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shanklin - Attaway Post 5 American Legion Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 2 PM at the funeral home. They would like to express their gratitude to the staff and family at Riverwood Senior Living Center and Homestead Hospice.
