Genia Timms Dowdy, age 48, of Rome passed away Wednesday May 1, 2019 in a local hospital.
Genia was born July 22, 1970, in Cedartown, Ga. a daughter of Betty Holmes Timms and the late Clifford Timms. She was of the Apostolic Faith. She worked as a caregiver for many years. Genia loved spending time with her children and liked reading and loved Gospel songs, she was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Timms, and a sister, Ruby Ann Timms.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Daniel Dowdy, sons, Mikey Daniel Dowdy, Justin Daniel Dowdy, daughter Kalina Yarbrough, mother, Betty Holmes Timms, sisters, Elizabeth Dowdy, Norma Timms, Lois Cox, half sister, Jennifer Edgeworth, half brothers, Terry Brand, Clifford Brand, Gene Reed, and Billy Brand, grandchild, Dixie Lee Dowdy, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 4, 2019 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Adam Griffin, officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour on Saturday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, GA. 30165.
Pallbearers include, Daniel Carrazco, Daniel Puckett, Daniel Johnson, Randall Fincher, Mi Pizano, and Jake Bates.
Honorary pallbearers include, Chris Akins, A.J. Jarrell , and Austin Lindsey.
