Gordon Greer Obituary
Mr. Gordon Brandon Greer, age 72, of Rome passed away Tuesday October 21, 2014 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Greer was born August 8, 1942, in Cherokee County Alabama, a son of the late Willie Greer, and Margaret Callan Greer. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Greer was a well known auto mechanic and owner of the West Rome Volkswagen Service. Mr. Greer was veteran of the Viet Nam War serving with United States Army. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Ann Greer, in 1975, a brother, Gene Greer.
Survivors include his wife, Janette Nelson Greer, sons, Steve Brandon Greer, Rome; David Lee (Regina) Greer Rome; grandchildren, Talitha Dempsey, April McGinnis, brothers, Gary Greer, Rome; Dennis Greet, Ft. Collins, CO;
Graveside and interment services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday October 23, 2014 at East View Cemetery, with Rev. Corey Wright, officiating. Shaklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion conducting full military graveside rites.The family will received friends at the residence, 121 John Ross Dr. Rome, Ga. 30165, from 11:30 AM until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday October 22, 2014.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at East View Cemetery by 10:50 AM on Thursday, Scott Richey, Jordan McGinnis, Eddie Sims, Adam Young, Jason Rathbun and Matt Sims.
Honorary pallbearers include, Steve Rood, Teddy McClaw.
