Hazel Touchstone Obituary
Mrs. Hazel Arlene Holsonback Touchstone, age 89, of Armuchee, passed away Monday September 29, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Touchstone was born August 19, 1925, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Robert Edward Holsonback, and Alice May Owens Holsonback. She was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Mrs. Touchstone was avid gardener and especially when it came to her flower gardens, she loved cooking.
Mrs. Touchstone was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Hope Touchstone, granddaughter, Kristy Plemons, brothers, Carl, Alton, Hubert, Edward, Grady, and Owne Holsonback, sisters, Edna Broome, and Lois Holsonback.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Houston W. Touchstone, son and daughter in law, Keith and Gayle Touchstone, Armuchee; daughter and son in law, Karen and Kenneth Plemons, Aargon; brother, M.L. Holsonback, Armuchee; grandchilern, Michael Plemons, Michelle (Jason) Sanders, Kellie (Cody) Hughes, great grandchildren, Brayden and Makayla Plemons, several nieced and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday October 2, 2014 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, with Dr. Wayne Hopper, Brother Patrick Hopper, and Rev. Carl Alexander, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday October 1, 2014 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home.
Mrs. Touchstone will lie instate at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, Kent Bridges, Larry Touchstone, Randall Touchstone, Wayne Holsonback, Gary Johnson, and Leonard Buffington.
