Herschel Dial Obituary
Herschel Dial, age 66, of Rome passed away Saturday January 15, 2022 at a local hospital.
Herschel was born on April 23, 1955 in Rome GA., to the late JR Dial and Mary Louise Cooper. Herschel was a simple man. He grew up around cars with his dad. He soon developed a great passion for them. Over the course of his life he had the opportunity to travel and work with many different car dealers. After many years of working at the dealerships, he became a master tech and decided to start his own business. D&D Automotive was then established in 1986. His business flourished very rapidly. To most, he was known as The Toyota Man, but Japanese imports in general were his specialty. In 1979 he was recognized by Mr. Toyoda himself for putting power steering and A/C on a Land Cruiser for the first time. Later in the early 2000's, he was recognized by the Honda Corporation in Canada. Anytime someone had an issue with an import car, he was the man who everyone was told to call. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was the soul provider for his wife and seven children. When he wasn't working, his time was spent with his family. The joy of his life was being in his shop with his tools and his trucks, as well as his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He leaves behind his legacy for his grandson to carry on. He was preceded in death by his wife: Patricia Dial; children: Michael Dial, Justin Dial, and Stephanie Dial.
Survivors include her children: Bubba Dial, April DeClue, Jessica Perez, Candice Boror, Tiffany Dial, and Miranda Dial; grandchildren: Jazmine Vasquez, Victor "Midget" Boror, Heaven Graham, Patricia "Sissy" Perez, Katelyn Perez, A.J. Perez, Dustin Perez, Riley Dial, Ben Clonts; great granddaughter: Raymi Gregory; siblings: Vernon Dial, Glenda Dial.
Funeral service wil be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday January 20, 2022 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until service hour on Thursday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome GA. 30165.
