Hershel Rose Obituary
Mr. Hershel Lewis Rose, age 85, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 in a local health care.
Mr. Rose was born July 24, 1932, in Floyd County a son of the late William Lewis Rose, and Gertrude Hazelwood Rose. He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church, and was retired from Supreme All Weather Surfacing. Mr. Rose was a veteran of the Unite States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Cagle Rose, two sisters, Mary Jamison, and Louise Johnson.
Survivors include sons, Michael Rose, James (Diane) Rose, daughters, Kathy (Lanny) McStotts, Teresa (Michael) Tierce, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday January 19, 2018 at Dry Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Stacey Nicholson, and Rev. Jody Horton, officiating. Interment will follow in Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday January 18, 2018 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include Cristy Rose, Misty Rose, Shenna Pilcher, Leslie Rose, Michael Rose, Patrick McStotts, Dixon Holtzclaw, Will Rose, Eddie Rose, and Kimberly Rose.
