Mr. Hugh Richard Lewis, age 80, of Rome passed away Friday June 5, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Lewis was June 17, 1934 in Bartow County a son of the late David Lewis and Lizzie Barnett Lewis. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Lewis was owner of his own Tree Service before his retirement, he enjoyed being a granddaddy to all his grandchildren, he loved his family dearly. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, piddling, and was a excellent horse shoe player. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 3 brothers, a grandson, Kevin Haynes, a granddaughter, Megan Lewis Douglas, a great granddaughter, Jamie Sherec Tate.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years he loved spoiling, Agnes Shaw Lewis, 2 daughters, Peggy and Lamar Burns, Armuchee; Elaine and Arthur Lynch, Rome; 3 three sons, Jerry and Debbie Lewis, Rome; Tommy and Cindy Lewis, Centre, Al; Dean and Christy Lewis, Rome; brother, Horace Lewis, grandchildren, Robin, Richard, Charlene, Christy, Amy, Drew, Kayla, Evan, Hannah, and Josh. 20 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday June 8, 2015, at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Dutton, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Grandsons, and great grandsons, will serve has pallbaerers.
