Obituary

James Elzie "Fluffy" Matney, age 48, of Rome died suddenly Saturday evening in a local hospital.



A native of Chattooga County, Mr. Matney was born October 2, 1969, son of the late James and Cora Lee Davis Matney. Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed by Bert Brooks Tire. He enjoyed fixing things and playing with his grandchildren.



Survivors include his wife, Tammy Chapman Matney, to whom he was married December 28, 1987; daughter Suzanne (L.B.) Blanchard; grandchildren Lilly Angel and Jaxon Blanchard; brother James Dewayne Matney, and sister Norma Jean Roberson; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, November 2 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Bert Brooks officiating.
