James "Terrell" Rigdon, age 78 of Rome went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 31, 2016. He passed peacefully at home.Mr. Rigdon was born September 28, 1937, in Floyd County. He is the son of the late James Ivy Rigdon, and Ethel Gaynell Rigdon. He is preceded in death by two sisters Geneva Heath and Carol Hulsey. He is survived by Kat Rigdon, his wife of 57 years, son Terry (Christy) Rigdon, daughter Felicia Rigdon, and four grandchildren; Donaven Stanfield, and Jordan, Blake, and Elijah Rigdon; Two sisters Gaynell Redmond and Sue Crowe; several nieces and nephews also survive.He was an active member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church for over 45 years where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 4, 2016 at Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Micca Gillespie and Rev. Keith Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens of Rome. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165. Pallbearers are Grandchildren Jordan, Blake, and Elijah Rigdon; Greg Smith; Tracy Dowdy; Lamar, Randy, Bobby Joe, Edward, and Larry Redmond. Honorary Pallbearers are Men of Faith Missionary Baptist Church Sunday School Class.
